Snorkeling Silfra Tour

Check-In and Gear-Up

Duration: 1 Hour 15 Minutes

Arrive at the meeting point at Silfra 15 minutes before the tour starts and check in with your guides. You’ll be divided into six groups, with one guide per group. Then, a briefing and gear-up session will take about an hour. Once fully dressed, your guide will coordinate with the park ranger to get your group’s number for water entry.

Snorkeling Adventure

Duration: 30-45 Minutes

Make your way to the entry platform, where you might experience a short wait before entering the water. Spend 30 to 45 minutes snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters of Silfra, where you can explore the underwater landscape between two continents. After diving, exit the platform and walk back to the meeting point, approximately 250 meters away.

Warm-Up and Debrief

Duration: 15-20 Minutes

Once back at the meeting point, take off your equipment and warm up with hot chocolate and cookies. Use this time to chat with your guide, ask questions, and review photos taken during the tour. Reflect on your unique underwater adventure and savor the memories.

Northern Lights Tour

Aurora Basecamp Visit

Duration: 20 Minutes

Drive to the Aurora Basecamp Northern Lights Observatory, just 20 minutes from Reykjavik. Upon arrival, visit the Northern Lights simulation show to understand what to expect. Learn tips and tricks on finding and photographing the lights effectively.

Stargazing Session

Duration: 30 Minutes

Before hunting for the Northern Lights, enjoy a guided stargazing session at the observatory. Learn about constellations and other celestial phenomena visible in the Icelandic night sky, and your appreciation of the natural wonders above will be enhanced.

Northern Lights Hunt

Duration: Variable

Enjoy the warmth of the domes at the base camp while waiting for the Northern Lights to appear. The basecamp provides a cozy environment as you prepare for your Northern Lights hunt. Venture out to witness this breathtaking natural phenomenon with newfound knowledge and anticipation.

Please bring long underwear, thick socks, suitable clothes for the weather, and contact lenses if you wear glasses.
Please note that the Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and sightings cannot be guaranteed.
The Snorkeling Silfra tour requires participants to be able to swim and be comfortable in the water.
It is recommended that participants have prior snorkeling experience, but it is not mandatory.
The minimum age requirement for this tour is 16 years old.
