The best time to visit Iceland depends on your interests. For the Northern Lights, visit between September and April. For milder weather and more accessible attractions, summer (June to August) is ideal.
If you are from a Schengen Area country, you do not need a visa. Travelers from other countries should check Iceland’s visa requirements based on their nationality.
Must-see attractions include the Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle (Thingvellir National Park, Geysir Geothermal Area, and Gullfoss Waterfall), Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, and Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon.
Pack layered clothing, waterproof and windproof outerwear, sturdy hiking boots, swimwear (for hot springs), and a good camera. Don't forget thermal wear if traveling in winter.
