Hotel Pick-Up
Your day begins with a comfortable pick-up at your hotel or the nearest bus stop in Reykjavik. As we head out of the city, enjoy the scenic 40-minute drive through the Icelandic countryside toward the Reykjadalur Valley.
Arrival and Hike Begins
Once we reach the trailhead, we’ll start our hike into the valley. The path winds through hills and steaming earth, giving you amazing views of geothermal springs, bubbling mud pools, and untouched nature. The hike is gentle to moderate and perfect for taking in the peaceful surroundings.
Soak in the Hot River
At the end of the trail, we reached the natural hot river. Here, you’ll have time to soak, relax, and enjoy the warm water flowing through the valley. It’s a quiet and refreshing experience, surrounded by the raw beauty of Iceland’s landscape.
Return Hike and Drive Back
After your time in the river, we’ll hike back along the same scenic route and then drive you back to Reykjavik. Use the ride to unwind, chat about the experience, or simply take in the views one last time.
How long is the tour?
The tour takes about 4 to 5 hours in total. This includes the drive to and from Reykjadalur, the hike through the valley, time to relax in the hot river, and return travel.
Can children join the tour?
Yes, children are welcome, but if you’re traveling with young kids, please contact us ahead of time so we can make sure the tour is suitable and safe for them.
What should I bring with me?
Bring good hiking boots, a wind and rainproof jacket, warm clothes, a swimsuit, a towel, snacks or a light lunch, and a camera. If you’d like, you can rent a GoPro from us as well.
Is there a place to change clothes by the hot river?
No, there are no changing rooms or showers in the area. You’ll be surrounded by nature, so please come prepared to change outdoors in a respectful and discreet way.
What’s the maximum group size?
This private tour is for up to 6 people, but we can accommodate larger groups (up to 14 participants) upon request. Extra participants are charged an additional fee.
