Your day begins with a friendly pick-up from your hotel or a nearby location in Reykjavík or Selfoss around 8:00 AM. You’ll hop into a comfortable minibus and head out along Iceland’s stunning South Coast, ready for a day full of adventure and beauty.
Our first stop is the Sólheimajökull Glacier, a beautiful outlet of Mýrdalsjökull. Here, your expert guide will get you geared up and lead you across the glacier’s icy surface. You’ll see deep cracks, ice formations, and get a feel for this frozen world. No previous hiking experience is needed—just a sense of adventure!
After the hike, we’ll visit the stunning Seljalandsfoss waterfall. It’s a tall and narrow fall that drops from a cliff, and if the path is safe, you can even walk behind it. This quick stop is a great chance to take photos and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
To finish the day, we’ll drop you off at the relaxing Sky Lagoon, just outside Reykjavík. This oceanside spa has warm geothermal waters and amazing views of the sea and sky. You can stay as long as you like during open hours—perfect for relaxing after your adventure.
What should I wear for the glacier hike?
We recommend wearing warm, waterproof outdoor clothing, including a hat and gloves. Good hiking boots with ankle support are a must for safety and comfort on the ice. Layers are best, as Icelandic weather can change quickly.
Will I be picked up from my hotel?
Pick-up is included from most central accommodations or designated nearby stops in Reykjavík or Selfoss. If your hotel is in a restricted area, we’ll direct you to the closest meeting point within a short walking distance.
What is the minimum age to join the tour?
Participants must be at least 12 years old to join the glacier hike. This is due to safety regulations and the physical nature of walking on the ice.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Iceland’s weather can be unpredictable. If conditions are unsafe, we may need to change or cancel parts of the tour. Your safety is our top priority, and we’ll always try to offer the best possible alternative if plans change.
